I just saw the new trailer for avatar.My god, it’s impressive! As far as CGI is concerend it is the bomb! This is probably the most advandced movie ever made and it took 14 years to complete. James Cameron seems to have been making movies about the titanic for the past few years, but now he has done something really special. Enjoy the trailer.

Dragonball Evolution review

Sure its a kids film. And sure, its on a subject that couldn’t possibly be made into movie with any lasting value. And sure its a load of crap. But its kinda cool in a way. I watched it on the plane after 9 hours of chronic leg cramps and considering the mood I was in I actually enjoyed it in a strange kind of way. The characters are pretty empty, the effects are cheezy at times and the acting is horrendous all the time. But for some reason I enjoyed watching it, very imaginative script. You would have to be very imaginative to get any kind of passable story line out of a real life dragonball movie. I mean WTF!! Japanese cartoons are way to crazy to translate to western movies. Imagine what would happen if Akira was made into a western movie. My god that would be a weird film. People would leave the cinema scratching their heads trying to figure out what the fuck they have just witnessed and what the fuck it all means.

What I did enjoy about it was the Karate Kid flavour that seemed to cover it. And at no point did I cringe at the characters, even tho they where terribly portrait. Yun-Fat Chow was likable and the main guy Justin Chatwin or “Goku’ also seemed quite cool, at times anyway. I guess I kind of identified with his dumb ass type of character. Or maybe it was because my legs where killing me from the cramped seating

Im not a watcher of the dragonball series so I don’t really have anything to compare it to. Im sure Dragonball Z fans out there will have many a bad word to say about this picture. But as a no brainer, piece of shit entertainment flick. It does the job well. Lets not kid ourselves, it aint gunna be another matrix. But if your looking for a good stoner brain rest and you like crazy kung-fu type mythology movies, then give it a buzz, why the hell not. Theres a lot worse around.

Landed with my arse in the butter in Brighton

Well it seems that I’ve ended up in Brighton, The UK can be a very dull place if you dont know where to go but Brighton, amazing! Really cool place with loads of great pubs. Went to this place last night called the Shakespears head. They only serve bangers and mash! But what a meal, made me think of the good ol days of kings and dragons, as I sipped my pint and shoveled another portion of horseraddish mash with meat gravy in my gullet. Wow! As far a movies is concerened, I was quite supprised to see that District 9 is not being released in the UK till September 4th. This has dissapointed me quite a bit, because I want to watch it. Will remind me of home, South Africa will always be my home, but the UK is a lot more jacked and bussling with media related businesses. So lets hope the dosh will start rolling in very soon. And if you have any comments on Brighton or where to go for a good time, then drop me a line. Im interested to know what kind of film industry is here and ofcoarse my previous endevour, the music biz! Got to be better than Cape Town anyway. Im going into town today and Im going to take a few photos. I know this is a bit off topic for this blog, but Im trying to turn TVterrorist into a more personal entertainment blog rather than a movie only website. Enjoy !

District 9 is finally here! And I havent seen it yet:(

Wow! I’ve read some reviews around the net and it looks like District 9 is as good as I hoped. Well that remains to be seen. For some reason they are only releasing District 9 in South Africa on the 28th of August. Why? Im so annoyed! Im here in South Africa till monday and I wont get a chance to see it when the rest of the world do. I arrive in the UK on the 18th and will try very hard to get myself to the nearest cinema to watch this movie. As a South African, its a very important movie for me. I have been involved in the South African Film Indusrty for quite a few years and am so glad to see a film presenting Local talent on a truly groundbreaking level. Im sure that District 9 is going to live upto my expectations, and I cant wait to watch it next week! I will post a full review, believe me. The reviews have been amazing 91% on IGN and amazing readers reviews on IMDB so Im sure this is one to buy on Limited edition Blu Ray gold plated box set, with matching Alien and Wickus action figures. Coooooool ! I will sell them from this site if they are ever made.

I just came across Video Co Pilot thanks to MogalIndy on Youtube. I can believe how cool this site is. If your not into film making then this probably wouldn’t interest you. But if you are then is site is definitely the Bees Knees. Mostly abobe after effects tutorials that have been sectioned into just about film post production special effect possible with the program. The tutorials are well presented and easy to understand and have just really inspired me to get cracking and start getting into my own film making projects as soon as possible. Just go to the tutorial section and get follow the videos. Its greatg site. !Would be nice if there was more veriety in the tutorials, perhaps some more on location effects, but hey, I guess thats not their thing.

What Im watching right now! Hot Rod. Video clips

Bwahahahahaha ! This is a funny movie! Stunt man extraordinaire Rod Kimble. If you like watching wipe out videos then you will love this movie. Rod Kimble is the son of a dead stuntman who wants more than anything to become like his dad. His step father, played by British actor Ian McShane is a real ass hole that does nothing but tell Rod that he’s a looser and every time Rod tries to stand up to him he gets his ass kicked. As far as the hollow story is concerned Rod has to raise $ 50 000 for a life saving operation for his step dad so that he can kick his ass before he dies. So he plans one, big, jump!

80’s sound track by Trevor Rabin (Isnt he South African?) is really cool. But if you hate 80’s then your going to get irritated. A lot of people do for some reason. I think 80’s is pretty cool. But you wouldn’t catch me playing that Duran Duran Album my sister bought back in 1985. Also starring is Danny McBride, (This guy has a good agent by the looks of things) Sissy Spacek as Rod’s Mom, Will Arnett as the asshole boyfriend who like to run down small furry animals with his corvette and ofcoarse Andy (jizz in my pants) Samberg plays Rod.

Tron Legacy – HD Trailer

Wow! This looks amazing! Tron Legacy is a sequel to the original Tron, made in 1982 and remains one of the first mainstream CGI films around. It starred Jeff Bridges and is well worth a watch if you haven’t seen it. The sequel Tron Legacy looks amazing! It blew the back of my head out! I love the whole look of it and the new cybercycles are awesome. Its also quite cool to see that Jeff Bridges is in this in more that one way. Seems a little violent for Disney though! ? ? Smash that fucker’s skull in with your designer Frisbee! Dont know if Walt would approve.

Zombieland – Red Band Trailer

Shaun of the dead meets Mickey and Malory meets deliverance meets Animal House. Zombie movies are overdone and it is really strange how they suddenly became popular. What was the first modern Zombie movie? Was it Dawn of the dead? Anyone? Use the comments box below, im dying to know. Anyhow! Zombieland is a black comedy starring Woody Harrelson , Emma Stone and Bill “American Chopper Asshole” Murrey as a zombie of all things. This is the red band trailer, so you get to see some blood n titties. What life is really about isnt it? Go on, enjoy the trailer! Its a good laugh.

Bionic Commando Xbox 360 review

Hell yeah! Grab your retractable robotic grappling arm and a couple of gats and your ready to go. Bionic Commando is basically a rethink of the classic 80’s which was conveniently also named Bionic Commando. It was the shit! I remember spending quite a few hours banging away at my NES trying to clock that bastard of a game. Difficult was an understatement! But it was great! This Capcom release is quite different from its 80’s ancestor, for the first thing its 3rd person, (Kind of like Tombraider) rather than its classic platformer brother. Capcom did remake a platform version of the game recently, Bionic Commando rearmed. Which was available as an Xbox arcade download and was really quite an amazing game. Got me so back into platform games that I ran out and bought a Nintendo DS and Super Mario DS and Sonic Rush! I loved those games!

Bionic Commando is a great game and really does give you the feeling that you are playing an evolution in the Bionic Commando Legacy. The controls are difficult to get to grips with, but once you have the knack, youll be flying all over the place, doing the sickest stunts to take out the bad guys. It really does make you feel like you have gigantic balls when you take down a whole shit load of bad dudes, a real rush! A lot of people complained about the learning curve of the game . I must admit, it took some getting used to. But remember that easy things don’t give any sense of reward, so keep plugging at it and practice those special moves. Its so cool to see how many ways there are to take out a villain.

The graphics are quite intense and the level design is awsome. From broken cities and flooded dockyards to tropical forrests you have a huge range of environments to enjoy. The bosses are very unique as well. There are some very cool ideas in this game. Lets hope that things will continue like this because its one of the best games I’ve played all year!

Are there any downsides? Well there is quite a lot of loading screens and objectives sometimes seem vague, but on the whole a solid gaming experience that packs a challenge worthy of a Bionic Commando title. Go and buy this game now!

Mwahahahahah! This is so fucking halarious! Whoever made this video is a king in their prime! I mean its so well done. Adding crappy guitar playing to a not so well known video and making it look like they are really playing it is screemingly funny. If you are a guitarist you will appreciate the next videos. The Eric Clapton one is also very funny! The facial expressions are what make me laugh the most. It is really a great idea. Well done whoever thought of it!
